Cracking Sands can now be downloaded over at Google Play for free. You will need an Android device running on at least Android 2.2 as well as a storage space of 350 MB. You will actually be getting the full version despite the title being free. The only downside to this is that you will be served with ads and you will have a limited access to character parts and upgrades. If you want these restrictions gone you will have to spend real world money through in-app purchase.
You can customize your character as well as your vehicle any which way you and can even unlock more powerful items once you have passed certain levels of the gamers. The numbers of weapons that the game presents to you are wide and varied that it will put the entire US arsenal to shame.
In terms of graphics the game is beautifully done with emphasis made on detail. It also plays smoothly without any lag at all on compatible devices.
As far as controls goes it looks pretty lacking. The only option available in controlling your vehicle is tilt-to-steer and even that is not accurate. This makes it difficult to steer your vehicle. The placement of the on screen buttons also make it difficult to use.
Despite these shortcomings the game has its moments and is entertaining to play. There’s a single player mode as well as a multiplayer mode where you can go head to head among the best racers around the world.
