ower defense games – once you are hooked there is no turning back! There is just something mesmerizing about laying waste to hoards of bad guys with an array of cleverly placed towers. Thankfully, the Android Market is full of tower defense games to feed our addiction to the popular genre. However, while some of the titles there are really enjoyable, others are just not really worth your time.

That is why we decided to do a little digging and pick a handful of Android tower defense games that deserve some attention. Ladies and gents, allow us to present you our list of 10 cool tower defense games for Android. Some of them you may have played before, others may be completely new to you, but they all have one thing in common – they are fun and will keep you entertained for quite a while.


In Myth Defense, the bad guys follow no path. Instead, they just go straight to the goal taking the shortest route possible, and it is up to you to stop them. The game is easy at first, but gets really hard as you progress, so be prepared for a more than decent challenge.

When was the last time you played a game with dragons? Well, here is one. In Lair Defense, your goal is to prevent the humans from stealing the dragons’ eggs, and you have an arsenal of skills and magic spells to do that. The game is fun, challenging, and can easily keep you occupied for hours at a time.

In GRave Defense HD, your goal is to stop the zombie invasion by any means necessary. And by any means necessary, we mean strategically placing miniguns along the zombies’ track. All of its 37 levels are beautifully drawn, which makes the zombie bashing experience even more enjoyable.

Sentinel III: Homeworld is a tower defense game with all the bells and whistles you can imagine. It features 20 levels, campaign mode, lots of weapons, and a good variety of enemies. The graphics are pretty impressive as well, especially when the game is played on a tablet.

Have you tried the first installment of Empire Defense? Well, the second one is quite different, but fortunately, in a good way. Instead of towers, it offers an arsenal of fighters, heroes, and super skills for massive carnage. Oh, it follows a story too, but we doubt that many of you will pay attention to it.

Retro Defense is a simple, but really fun tower defense game that can eat more than a few hours of your spare time. It features 24 challenging levels and a cool retro theme. It is a bit pricey, however, so make sure you check the free version before purchasing the full app.

Here is one more simple, but brilliant tower defense game – ZDefense. It is far from easy, however, so get ready for a tough challenge. The levels that it offers are plentiful and each one of them requires you to be very careful when positioning your towers.

Nexus Defense is a great tower defense game with a space theme. Hoards of evil robots are set on destroying your base, and you must lay waste to them with your towers. The game is quite challenging, so don’t expect lasting long the first few times when you play it.

Asteroid Defense 2 is a tower defense game with a twist. Your space station is being bombarded with asteroids, and it is your task to destroy them before they do any damage. The modules that you attach to your space station act as the towers and blast the asteroids to dust.

10. Defender

Defender is not your ordinary tower defense game. You have to do the aiming yourself and stop those bad guys from tearing down the walls of your castle. The game is fun and challenging, so make sure you have a few hours to spare before engaging in battle.
